Do you seriously think faculty ...Dear Prof. Sanghi,<br />Do you seriously think faculty members can be motivated to do good research? I think not. No one can be motivated to do good research. It is an innate quality. There are so many open problems out in the field that anyone with grit and above average level of intelligence can do excellent research. The results might not be earth shattering but atleast they will be good. It all boils down to self motivation.<br />Do you think that IITX faculty aren't motivated today and the system kills their motivation since the time of hire?<br />I do hope that the above answer is false and it is highly likely that some other structural issues are hindering their performance.
